Introduction to Bulk Inventory Mapping
Standardize your inventory operations by ensuring all products sold on your marketplaces are correctly linked to your physical stock. The Update Catalogue Inventory Mapping tool allows you to link products in bulk, handle naming differences between your store and warehouse, and even create bundles where one marketplace listing is fulfilled by multiple physical items.
Important Considerations
Before you begin mapping your inventory, please take note of the following operational guidelines:
- Feature Availability: This feature is not enabled by default for all brands. It is enabled on an on-demand basis. If you do not see this option in your dashboard, please contact your account manager or support team to request access.
- Test in Small Batches: We strongly recommend performing a pilot upload with a small sample size (5-10 products) first. After uploading, verify the mappings on the Catalogue Product Detail page to ensure they reflect correctly. Once confirmed, proceed to map the rest of your products in controlled batches. Please avoid uploading massive datasets in a single file to prevent processing errors.
Walkthrough
Follow these steps to map your products in bulk:
- Navigate to Catalogue Products
Log in to the Locad OMS.
Go to the Products module and select Catalogue Products.

- Access the Catalogue Inventory Mapping Bulk Upload module
Click on the Import button in the top right corner of the page.
In the popup window, select the tab labeled Update Catalogue Inventory Mapping.

- Prepare Your Data
Click Download Sample Template to get the correct & latest Excel format.

CATALOGUE_PRODUCT_SKU: The Catalogue SKU as it appears on your Catalogue Product Detail Page.INVENTORY_PRODUCT_SKU: The corresponding Inventory SKU as it appears on your Inventory Product Detail Page.UNITS: The quantity of the inventory item included in this mapping.
Create Bundles or Multi-Item Mappings: If you need to map multiple Inventory SKUs to a single Catalogue SKU (e.g., a "Starter Pack" that contains two different items), list the
CATALOGUE_PRODUCT_SKUon a new line for each additionalINVENTORY_PRODUCT_SKU.Example:
Row 1:
SKU1maps toSKU1-MODDED(12 Units)Row 2:
SKU1maps toSKU2(8 Units)
This tells the system that whenever "SKU1" is sold, it should deduct 12 units of "SKU1-MODDED" and 8 units of "SKU2".

- Verify Success

You can verify the mapping by searching for the Catalogue SKU in the product list and opening its details page. Under "Mapped Inventory SKUs," you will see the linked items and quantities.

Troubleshoot Failed Uploads
If the status column shows Failed, you must download the error file to identify the issue.
Click the Download icon (under the "Error File" column) next to the failed entry.
Open the downloaded Excel file and look at the Error Description column.
- Common Error Example:
Message: "SKU Not Found for Marketplace Connection Name [Shop Name]"
Reason: The system cannot find the SKU listed in your file in the specific shop you selected.

- How to Fix:
Verify that you selected the correct Marketplace Connection (shop name) in Step 4. If the SKU belongs to a different shop, re-upload the file selecting the correct shop name.
Check the SKU for typos in your Excel file.
- Once corrected, save the file and upload it again.
How to identify the correct Marketplace Connection
If you are unsure which connection name to select, go to Marketplace Integrations > Select the Marketplace > Details. Look for the name listed under the Marketplace field.
FAQs:
- Can I map one catalogue product to multiple different inventory products?
Ans: Yes. You simply add a new row in the Excel file for every inventory item you wish to link. Keep theCATALOGUE_PRODUCT_SKUthe same for those rows, but change theINVENTORY_PRODUCT_SKUandUNITSaccordingly. - Why do I need to select a "Marketplace Connection" before uploading?
Ans: Catalogue products are often specific to a sales channel (e.g., your Shopify store vs. your TikTok shop). Selecting the connection ensures the system maps the inventory to the correct product listing for that specific store. - How do I know if my upload worked?
Ans: After uploading, the file status will turn green and say Success. You can also click on the specific Catalogue Product in the dashboard to visually confirm that the "Mapped Inventory SKUs" section lists the correct physical items.
